Vale Inco Announces Name Change to Vale

TORONTO, May 27 /PRNewswire/ — Vale Inco announced the natural next step in the company’s evolution today by changing its name to Vale — a milestone that aligns it more fully with other Vale operations worldwide and reflects its position as part of the world’s second largest mining company.

A world leader in nickel, the former Inco Limited was acquired by the former CVRD in late 2006. It has operated around the world as Vale Inco since 2007 when CVRD rebranded itself as Vale.

”Our global nickel business will continue to be headquartered in Toronto, Canada,” said Tito Martins, President and CEO of Vale’s nickel operations. “We have a very strong team in place and are building a long-term future for our operations around the world in Canada, Indonesia, New Caledonia, the United Kingdom, China, Japan and Brazil. Our nickel business today is larger than it was in 2006, when we first invested in Inco and we are building on that investment every day.

”We are positioning our company to meet the challenges of an increasingly competitive global marketplace,” he continued. “Our objective is to ensure a sustainable, successful future for the business and the people and communities who rely on it.”

Vale’s nickel business has more than 11,000 employees worldwide and net sales in 2009 of US$3.26 billion, accounting for 13.6% of Vale’s overall global revenue. The management team in Toronto oversees a global business committed to significant production upgrades, capital investments and new projects that hold forth the potential for further growth in Canada and internationally.

When Vale acquired Inco in 2006, it was the largest-ever acquisition by a Latin American company. “It was a defining moment in our history,” remarked Roger Agnelli, President and CEO, Vale. “We stepped boldly onto the global stage and since that time our growth has continued, with our nickel operations playing a vital role in achieving our international ambitions.

”We have overcome many challenges and today stand poised to complete significant investments in new nickel operations at Goro in New Caledonia and Onca Puma in Brazil, said Mr. Agnelli. “In Canada, we are opening the first new mine in our Ontario Operations in close to 40 years, at Totten, and are constructing a new state-of-the-art hydromet processing facility at Long Harbour in Newfoundland. All of this is building towards positioning Vale as the leading, safest and most profitable nickel company in the world — which is our ultimate objective.”

”While our name is changing, we are still the very recognizable company our employees and communities have come to know,” continued Mr. Martins. “We are proud of our Inco heritage and its rich 107-year history — the record of accomplishments and the employees who made them possible were a large part of what attracted Vale in the first place. That experience and that commitment to excellence will continue to drive us going forward. Today’s announcement builds on the achievements of our past to help create an exciting and prosperous future.”

The roll-out of the Company’s new name will occur across its Canadian and global operations over the coming weeks and months.

Coors Light Brings Cold Refreshment to Trinidad & Tobago and Enters Its 10th Country in the Caribbean

Molson Coors Partners with NWT Enterprises Ltd. to Distribute Coors Light

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Molson Coors Brewing Company (NYSE: TAP) and NWT Enterprises Ltd. have partnered to introduce Coors Light to beer drinkers in Trinidad & Tobago. As Molson Coors focuses on international growth, Coors Light, the world’s most refreshing beer, is now available at supermarkets, convenience stores, as well as bars and casual dining restaurants throughout the country.

Within the Caribbean, Trinidad & Tobago is the fourth largest beer market and has the highest per capita consumption. The presence of imported premium beer brands is a growing category in Trinidad & Tobago, as is consumer’s interest in quality American brands like Coors Light. Coors Light is now available in ten countries across the Caribbean.

The introduction of Coors Light to the Trinidad & Tobago market is part of a larger Molson Coors global expansion strategy.   The popularity of light, refreshing beer is growing globally, and Coors Light is well positioned to meet the demand. Coors Light travels well to new markets, particularly in Latin America, with sales up over 35% last year in Mexico and over 150% in Panama where this year it will surpass 90,000 cases after its introduction two years ago. Other markets where Coors Light is being launched this year include Costa Rica and Curacao Bonaire.

Beginning this month, retailers in Trinidad & Tobago will carry Coors Light bottles and cans. All packages will feature mountains on the label with thermochromatic ink that turns blue when Coors Light has been chilled to the perfect temperature for ice cold refreshment.   According to Coors Light research, consumers want to know when their beer is cold enough to drink. To meet that need, Coors Light introduced the Cold Activated Bottle in the U.S. in 2007, the latest in a long line of innovations and packaging enhancements that have been a hallmark of Molson Coors beers.

“We are proud to partner with NWT and excited about the opportunity to bring the world’s most refreshing beer to beer drinkers across these beautiful islands.   Beer drinkers across the Caribbean are flocking to Coors Light as a uniquely refreshing beer and we are confident that with these kinds of distribution partnerships, combined with the distinctive brand promise of Coors Light, we will continue to grow this brand globally,” said Paul Mendieta, Molson Coors Managing Director for Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. “Trinidad & Tobago has a strong beer drinking culture and the introduction of Coors Light is perfectly timed with the country’s growing interest and enthusiasm surrounding American beer and the special drinking experience provided through our cold activation technology.”

“We are pleased to be partnering with Molson Coors to bring Coors Light to the market. The imported beer segment in Trinidad & Tobago is growing and the introduction of Coos Light fits well with the population’s desire for cold, refreshing beer. Molson Coors has achieved a lot of success in similar markets in the Caribbean and we look forward to helping our friends satisfy their thirst for cold refreshment whether it’s at Carnival or just limin on the beach,” added John-Paul Tannous, Director of NWT Enterprises Ltd.

Coors Light is available in more than 25 countries, including Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Ireland, and China.

“”We would like to thank PASO and in particular, PASO President, Mario Vasquez Rana for having confidence in us and allowing us this great honor. We will work hard to stage the best Pan Am Games ever.”"

The Pan American Games are among the premium amateur athletic competitions in the world. Toronto 2015 is expected to attract 10,000 participants and 250,000 visitors from the 42 participating countries in North, South and Central America and the Caribbean.

Toronto was chosen as host site over competitors Bogota, Colombia and Lima, Peru. The winning city’s $1.4-billion (CAD) plan is built around a core of existing and proven world-class facilities used for professional sports, six new athletic venues and a well-designed, sustainable athlete’s village on Toronto’s waterfront. New venues include a stadium for athletics, indoor velodrome, Canadian Sports Institute facility and Aquatics Centre, as well as two additional 50-meter pools.

“”For us, the Games’ legacy of new competition and training facilities for Ontario’s and indeed Canada’s athletes is most important,”" said Michael Chambers, President of the Canadian Olympic Committee which formally submitted the bid. “”They will provide much needed new and improved training and competition opportunities for high-performance athletes in and around the Toronto area, and provide valuable community resources for promoting physical fitness and health, especially among our youth.”"
