<span class="legendSpanClass">CAIRO</span>, <span class="legendSpanClass">June 2, 2026</span> /PRNewswire/ -- African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) (<a style="COLOR: blue" href="https://apo-opa.co/4ehGxHi" target="_blank">www.Afreximbank.com</a>) held a high-level roadshow in Nassau, The Bahamas, on 29 May, aimed at deepening engagement with key stakeholders and businesses across the government, the private sector, and financial institutions across the country.

Organised as part of the Bank's broad strategy to strengthen trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Africa and the Caribbean, the roadshow which took place under the theme "<em>Investing in progress through the implementation of the Afreximbank mandate in The Bahamas</em>" built on the current achievements between the Bank and The Bahamas to explore more opportunities for shared prosperity.

The roadshow follows an approval by the Board of Directors of Afreximbank of a financing facility of up to US$ 5-billion for the Caribbean region, including The Bahamas. This approval signals Afreximbank's commitment to advancing the objectives of the Global Africa agenda by strengthening commercial and financial ties between Africa and the Caribbean.

The event was officiated by the Honourable Philip Davis, Prime Minister of The Bahamas and well attended by the business community in The Bahamas, provided a platform for Afreximbank to showcase its suite of financing, advisory and trade facilitation solutions available to businesses and institutions in The Bahamas and to foster stronger institutional partnerships.

Speaking at the roadshow, the Prime Minister said: "<em>Economic growth must translate into broader economic participation, ensuring that more Bahamians have the chance to build businesses, create jobs, and share in the country's progress. We have made some progress in this area, but continuing to strengthen access to capital through institutions such as the Afreximbank is an important part of our ongoing efforts</em>."

<em>"This roadshow also reminds us of the importance of regional and international cooperation at a time when many economies are navigating uncertainty," </em>he added.

While making his opening remarks, Mr. Ihejirika said: "<em>In less than three years of operations within the CARICOM, Afreximbank has demonstrated a strong commitment to economic development in the region, especially in The Bahamas by supporting key projects across critical sectors. To date, the Bank has facilitated approximately USD 140 million in infrastructure financing through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements, while also extending USD 30 million in support to the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector. These investments underscore Afreximbank's mandate to drive sustainable growth, enhance economic resilience, and expand opportunities for businesses and communities throughout The Bahamas."</em>

Other notable speakers who attended the event include Honourable Michael B. Halkitis, Minister of Finance and Honourable Ginger M. Moxey, Minister of Grand Bahama, Mr. Atario Mitchell, President, Bahamas Stripping Group of Companies and Mr. Kino Simmons, Managing Director CAT Island Development Company.

<h5>PayPal USD (PYUSD)</h5>

</div>
CARIBPR WIRE, SAN JOSE, Calif., May 20, 2026: PayPal today announced it is making PayPal USD (PYUSD) available in 70 markets worldwide in the PayPal account. This dollar-backed stablecoin enables users to send funds globally, with faster settlement and lower cost than traditional payment methods.

As global commerce becomes increasingly digital, individuals and businesses are looking for faster and more seamless ways to transact across borders. Stablecoins like PYUSD help power an inclusive, fast, lower cost, global commerce system.

"Consumers and businesses around the world are looking for faster, more seamless ways to transact globally and the current system still charges too much, takes too long, and settles on timelines that were designed for a different era," said May Zabaneh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Crypto, PayPal. "We are working to change that. Enabling PYUSD in users accounts across 70 markets gives people faster access to their funds, lower-cost ways to send money across borders, and a more direct path to participating in the global economy and that is what drives commerce forward for everyone."

Users in newly supported markets can buy, hold, send, and receive PYUSD directly from their PayPal account.1 Additionally, eligible users can earn rewards on their PYUSD holdings2, can instantly transfer funds to friends and family, whether on PayPal or to third-party digital wallets, and convert PYUSD to local currency when withdrawing funds3 for everyday spending.

Businesses that accept PYUSD can use proceeds in minutes rather than days or weeks, improving liquidity and reducing reliance on traditional settlement cycles. Faster access to funds can help businesses manage working capital, support cross-border operations, and participate in global commerce.

Following the launch of PYUSD in the United States in 2023, this expansion is another critical step in creating the liquidity, utility, and ubiquity of PYUSD necessary to create a more inclusive, global commerce ecosystem. By making it available in more places through PayPal, PYUSD helps consumers send funds internationally at lower cost, while enabling businesses to settle faster, reduce foreign payment fees, and access proceeds more quickly.

PYUSD, a US federally regulated stablecoin, is now available to users in their PayPal accounts across multiple global regions, including Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and North America1. This includes Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Peru, Singapore4, the United Kingdom, and the United States. PayPal users in the remaining markets will have access to PYUSD in the coming weeks.

1 User experience may vary based on local regulations and PayPal experience.

2 Rewards are not available to Singapore or United Kingdom-based users. Rewards rate will be determined at all times in PayPal’s sole discretion, is not guaranteed, and is subject to change. Terms Apply.

3 Terms and conditions apply.

4 PYUSD will only be available to PayPal business account holders in Singapore. PYUSD will not be available to Singapore based consumers.

<strong>CARIBPR WIRE, NEW YORK, NY, May 1, 2026</strong>: Guyana-born Caribbean immigrant entrepreneur Felicia J. Persaud, founder of the newly launched AI Capital Exchange, has graduated with honors from the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center's Milestone Circles program - a prestigious 12-week initiative designed to help U.S.-based founders build, scale, and lead with purpose.

<p style="text-align: center;"><em>Leading Caribbean and Central American payment gateway expands client payment options with stablecoin settlement, powered by 1Money's global platform</em></p>

<strong>CARIBPR WIRE, Hamilton, Bermuda, Weds. April 29, 2026</strong>: Powertranz, a leading payment gateway in the Caribbean and Central America, today announced a strategic partnership with 1Money, the first vertically integrated financial stack<em>.</em> The collaboration enables Powertranz clients to settle invoices and pay for Powertranz services using stablecoins, offering a faster, more flexible alternative to traditional international cross-border payment methods.

With over 27 years of experience, Powertranz is at the forefront of payment innovation in the region. This new partnership represents a further step in that journey - one that recognises the growing role of digital assets in the global payments landscape and the evolving expectations of modern merchants.

This is the first phase of a wider stablecoin payments strategy.

<em>“At Powertranz, we are committed to giving our clients more choice in how they do business with us. By enabling stablecoin payments for our services, we are making it easier for clients to pay us in a way that is modern, efficient, and aligned with the evolving global payments landscape. We are pleased to be working with 1Money, whose platform is built to support compliant stablecoin and fiat flows with global bank on- and off-ramps.”</em>

This leadership transition follows the conclusion of Island Grid Solutions' (IGS) management role on April 20, 2026, and the stepping down of Eric Pike and Mei Shibata from their positions at BGC.

"We are honored to have had the opportunity to set up BGC and conduct the biggest grid upgrade project for New Providence, over the past two years," said Eric Pike, Former Chairman of BGC. "I would like to recognize the dedicated employees of IGS, Pike, and BGC, whose hard work and commitment were instrumental to this achievement, and extend our best wishes for BGC's continued success."

"On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Eric, Mei, and the entire IGS team for their leadership and expertise in building BGC into a fully operational utility and strengthening New Providence's transmission and distribution system," said Anthony Ferguson, Chairman of BGC. "We now move forward as a fully Bahamian-led organization, focused on delivering long-term performance for our country, our children, and our grandchildren."

Mr. McKenzie brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across the energy and infrastructure sectors, including senior operational roles at GE Vernova and Consolidated Edison of New York. He has led large-scale grid modernization and construction programs, managed billion-dollar capital portfolios, and delivered complex energy projects focused on reliability, resilience, and operational performance.

Ms. Fernander is a Certified Public Accountant with more than two decades of executive financial leadership in regulated environments. As former Chief Financial Officer of Commonwealth Bank, she oversaw enterprise-wide financial strategy, capital planning, treasury, and regulatory compliance, and brings deep expertise in governance, financial discipline, and institutional accountability.

"Together, Dareo and Gladys bring the operational and financial leadership required to grow a resilient, high-performing utility," Ferguson added. "Just as importantly, this transition reflects the strength and capability of Bahamian leadership at every level of the organization."

Over the past two years, BGC has made meaningful progress in strengthening New Providence's electricity network, improving reliability by almost 50% and updating its critical infrastructure through a $130M grid upgrade project. With the transition to full independence, the company will now be focused on the disciplined management of the system to ensure its long-term system performance.

As a result, mobilizing private capital becomes critical in advancing sustainable economic growth.

Latin America and the Caribbean plays a critical role in the clean energy transition. The region demonstrates <a href="https://edge.prnewswire.com/c/link/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4663972-1&amp;h=3735408007&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Freports.weforum.org%2Fdocs%2FWEF_Latin_America%26Caribbean_Energy_Transition_2025.pdf&amp;a=abundant+renewable+energy+potential" target="_blank">abundant renewable energy potential</a> and plays a strategic role in supporting global supply chains, which are critical to decarbonization. Additionally, the region is severely vulnerable to climate change through intensified and frequent weather events such as floods, droughts, and hurricanes. In response, CIFI is committed to addressing increased events through its growing renewable energy portfolio, which includes solar energy and solar-plus-battery energy system storage projects. In line with the region's sustainable development priorities, 70% of the loan proceeds will support climate projects, particularly climate mitigation activities.

Gender‑inclusive organizations demonstrate enhanced innovation, employee retention, and ability to solve complex challenges associated with the <a href="https://edge.prnewswire.com/c/link/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4663972-1&amp;h=2391697294&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wpcenergy.org%2Fimages%2Fdocuments%2Fbcgwpc-untapped-reserves-3-0-sep-2023.pdf&amp;a=energy+transition" target="_blank">energy transition</a>. As a result, CIFI is committed to strengthening gender equality across its portfolio and within its workforce. This includes directing 30% of the loan proceeds towards 2X aligned businesses, enterprises that advance women's economic participation, and supporting women's career development internally. As part of its commitment, FinDev Canada is also exploring ways to integrate gender-focused Technical Assistance into CIFI's clients who benefit from FinDev Canada's loan proceeds.

This investment reflects Canada's ongoing strategic partnerships in Latin America and the Caribbean, and highlights opportunities to expand sustainable investments for mutual economic prosperity.

"FinDev Canada is pleased to reaffirm its commitment, and build on its partnership with CIFI to accelerate climate infrastructure projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through our renewed collaboration, we can strengthen economic growth, advance gender equality, and promote climate action in a region highly exposed to climate change impacts," said Lori Kerr, CEO, FinDev Canada.

"We are grateful to FinDev Canada for its trust and for strengthening a long‑standing partnership focused on sustainable and inclusive infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean. This financing will support climate action, accelerate the energy transition, and deepen gender‑inclusive practices across our portfolio, contributing to the region's development needs," said César Cañedo‑Argüelles, Chief Executive Officer of CIFI.

<strong>CaribPR Wire, NEW YORK/NEW ORLEANS, March 25, 2026: </strong>April 2026 belongs to Dr. Monty Alexander. The Grammy-nominated Jamaican-born pianist, widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz musicians alive, is set to deliver two landmark performances this month - first at New York City’s legendary Blue Note Jazz Club for a sold-out Easter weekend run, and then as the headliner of the Jazz Tent at the New Orleans Jazz &amp; Heritage Festival, where Jazz Fest will honor Jamaica in an historic celebration under his banner.

Hot off a triumphant reception at Miami’s Moss Center last month, Alexander brings his electrifying “Jamaica to Jazz” concert experience to two of America’s most storied music stages - commanding a full ensemble of up to seven world-class musicians and turning every performance into an unforgettable journey through the soul of Caribbean sound and the art of jazz.
<h2><strong>NEW YORK CITY - BLUE NOTE JAZZ CLUB | EASTER WEEKEND, APRIL 2–5</strong></h2>
Beginning Thursday, April 2 and running through Easter Sunday, April 5, Alexander takes the Blue Note stage for eight shows across four nights - two each evening at 8:00 PM and 10:30 PM. The Blue Note Jazz Club, at 131 W. 3rd Street in Greenwich Village, is the most celebrated jazz venue in the world, and Alexander’s return there is nothing short of a homecoming.

“Jamaica to Jazz” traces the blazing arc of Jamaican music into the heart of modern jazz - from the early ska sessions of Kingston’s first recording studios to the international stages that made history — told through the hands and voice of the man who helped build it all. From the American Songbook to the blues, from gospel to bebop, from calypso to reggae, every set is a living history lesson delivered with irresistible joy.

Alexander personally introduces each musician from the stage - a signature touch that makes every show feel like an invitation into his world. With as many as seven musicians joining him on stage, the ensemble is an event unto itself.

<h2><strong>NEW ORLEANS - JAZZ &amp; HERITAGE FESTIVAL | APRIL 23: “JAMERICANA”</strong></h2>
Three weeks later, on April 23, Dr. Monty Alexander brings the celebration south - to New Orleans, the other great capital of jazz in the African diaspora - for a performance that is already being called one of the most historically significant moments of Jazz Fest 2026. Alexander headlines the Jazz Tent Stage at 5:45 PM, closing out the day as its marquee act.

But this is more than a headline slot. Jazz Fest 2026 is honoring Jamaica - co-presented under Alexander’s name - in a landmark cultural celebration dubbed <em>“Jamericana.”</em> The Jamaica Tourist Board is actively involved, with representatives confirmed to be on the ground in New Orleans with a full program of Jamaica-themed activities and presentations surrounding the performance. When Alexander sits down at the piano that evening, it will be a moment where Kingston and New Orleans, reggae and jazz, the Caribbean and the American South, converge on one stage.

“Jamericana” is Dr. Alexander’s signature artistic concept: the electrifying fusion of Jamaica’s African-rooted rhythmic tradition with the jazz born in America’s Deep South. At Jazz Fest, the concept reaches its fullest expression - not just music, but a celebration of two cultures, two cities, and one unbroken line of Black musical genius.

<h2><strong>ABOUT DR. MONTY ALEXANDER, C.D., O.J. - A PIONEER WHO SHAPED THE SOUND OF THE WORLD</strong></h2>
Born on June 6, 1944, in Kingston, Jamaica, Monty Alexander was playing Christmas carols by ear at four and performing in local clubs by 14. As a teenager in late-1950s Jamaica, he played in the island’s earliest recording studios - taking part in the foundational ska sessions that would give rise to reggae and reshape global music culture forever.

At just 16, he had recordings on the Jamaican hit parade. By 19, he had made his way to New York City, where he captivated audiences at Jilly’s - the legendary club owned by Frank Sinatra’s close confidant Jilly Rizzo. That connection ignited collaborations with Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Ray Brown, Milt Jackson, Wes Montgomery, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Sonny Rollins.

Today, with more than 75 albums and performances at virtually every major jazz festival and concert hall on earth, Alexander is ranked the fifth greatest jazz pianist of all time in

The Fifty Greatest Jazz Piano Players of All Time (Hal Leonard Publishing). The prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival has presented him 23 times since 1976.

<strong>CARIBPR WIRE, TORONTO, Canada, Fri. Mar. 20, 2026:</strong> Award-winning actor CCH Pounder is helping to spearhead the expansion of the Cross Continental Forum, (CCF), an international co-production platform connecting producers across Africa and the global diaspora, as the initiative moves its 2026 edition to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

[caption id="attachment_16467" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="CCH Pounder, Award Winning Actor, and CCF Steering Group Member"]<img class="size-full wp-image-16467" title="CCH Pounder, Award Winning Actor, and CCF Steering Group Member" src="https://caribpr.com/uploads/2026/03/CCH-Pounder-Award-Winning-Actor-and-CCF-Steering-Group-Member.png" alt="CCH Pounder, Award Winning Actor, and CCF Steering Group Member" width="600" height="320" />[/caption]

“Creation, to me, is our most powerful act of connection. Expanding the Cross Continental Forum to South Africa allows us to turn shared heritage into shared enterprise - creatively, economically and strategically,” commented CCH Pounder, Award Winning Actor, and CCF Steering Group Member.
<h2>A Gateway For Global Collaboration</h2>
The move is being made in partnership with UMEDA, the economic development agency for the Pietermaritzburg Midlands, and South African production company Pambili Media. The partnership reflects growing interest in building stronger co-production links between Africa, the Caribbean and Diaspora markets as demand increases for globally relevant stories and talent.

“KwaZulu-Natal is ready to engage the global screen economy in new ways. Partnering with the Cross Continental Forum connects our region’s creative industries with international producers, while positioning the Midlands as a gateway for collaboration between Africa and the global marketplace,” stated Michael Newton, CEO of UMEDA.

CCF's 2026 theme Bridging Markets, Building Futures focuses on strengthening Black authorship and Global South leadership in international co-productions, so that producers enter partnerships as originating partners and rights holders, and creative control and intellectual property remain rooted in the communities where the stories begin.

[caption id="attachment_16468" align="aligncenter" width="470" caption="Sydney Masina, partner at Pambili Media."]<img class="size-full wp-image-16468" title="Sydney Masina, partner at Pambili Media." src="https://caribpr.com/uploads/2026/03/Sydney-Masina-partner-at-Pambili-Media..png" alt="Sydney Masina, partner at Pambili Media." width="470" height="470" />[/caption]

“For us at Pambili Media, this partnership is about creating the conditions for meaningful collaboration - where projects can be developed locally while building the international relationships they need to travel globally,” said Sydney Masina, partner at Pambili Media.

"Creating strong business connections between Africa and the Diaspora will be the great success story of the 21st Century, one that will be increasingly rewarding and profitable as we move forward,” US-based Pambili partner Steven Adams, who has a long history of working between Africa and the United States

Launched by CaribbeanTales Media Group in 2024, the Cross Continental Forum brings together film and television producers from Africa, the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, and the Americas with potential co-production partners.

After two successful editions in Barbados, the 2026 program will begin with an in-person gathering in the Pietermaritzburg Midlands, KwaZulu-Natal, from July 20-26, presented in partnership with UMEDA and Pambili Media. The program will then continue during the Toronto International Film Festival Market (Sept. 8 - 13), followed by four weeks of virtual labs and curated B2B matchmaking sessions.
<h2><strong> </strong></h2>
<h2><strong>Driving South South Collaboration </strong></h2>
With the recent co-production agreement signed between South Africa and Nigeria, and the continued growth of the African Continental Free Trade Area, (AfCFTA), cross-regional collaboration in the creative industries is entering a transformative phase.

The AfCFTA connects 55 African Union nations, forming the world’s largest free trade area by membership.

"We’re witnessing the potential of the AfCFTA to come to life through creative industry partnerships. South Africa’s dynamic screen industry, combined with its co-production infrastructure, positions it as a strategic gateway for South–South collaboration and creative entrepreneurship,” said Dr. Keith Nurse, Cultural Industries Specialist, Chair of CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution.

“The Cross Continental Forum was designed from the outset to move between locations across the Global South.  It is part of a long-term effort to build sustainable co-production pipelines linking African, Caribbean, and diaspora producers to the global screen marketplace,” said Frances-Anne Solomon, Founder and CEO, CaribbeanTales Media Group.

<strong>CARIBPR WIRE, Washington, D.C., March 17, 2026: </strong>The Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War, (DPCW), achieved the 10th anniversary of its proclamation on March 14, drawing renewed attention to efforts to strengthen international norms aimed at preventing war and resolving disputes through law and cooperation. The milestone comes at a time when conflicts and geopolitical tensions are intensifying across several regions of the world, underscoring the growing need for international frameworks that prioritize prevention, dialogue, and collective responsibility for peace.

First proclaimed in 2016, the DPCW was introduced as a proposal to strengthen international standards designed to prevent armed conflict and promote peaceful dispute resolution. The initiative emerged from the recognition that armed conflicts continue to claim the lives of countless people, particularly young individuals, and that the international community must move beyond responding to violence after it erupts toward building durable structures capable of preventing conflict before it begins.

The declaration was developed through the efforts of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international peace NGO dedicated to promoting sustainable peace and protecting lives affected by war. HWPL was founded by Chairman Man-hee Lee, whose experience as a student soldier during the Korean War shaped his commitment to advancing a world in which future generations no longer face the devastation of armed conflict.

The origins of the DPCW date back to the September 18 HWPL World Peace Summit in Seoul, 2014, where 1,933 participants from 152 countries gathered, including current and former heads of state, government officials, religious leaders, international law experts, and representatives of civil society. Participants emphasized the need for stronger international frameworks that prioritize preventing conflict rather than responding only after violence has already begun.

In 2015, HWPL established the HWPL International Law Peace Committee (ILPC), composed of international law experts from around the world. Following consultation and legal review, the committee drafted the DPCW, consisting of 10 articles and 38 clauses outlining principles aimed at strengthening peace through international law, including standards on the use of force, procedures for peaceful dispute resolution, international cooperation and collective security, protection of religious freedom, and greater participation by civil society in peacebuilding.

Over the past decade, support for the DPCW has expanded among governments and civil society organizations. Regional parliamentary bodies, including the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN), and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), have adopted resolutions supporting the initiative. National legislatures, including the Chamber of Deputies of Paraguay, the Senate of the Dominican Republic, and the National Legislature of South Sudan, have also endorsed the declaration, while more than 900,000 citizens across 178 countries have expressed support.

Advocates say the DPCW seeks to complement existing international legal frameworks by strengthening mechanisms that prevent disputes from escalating into war. As the declaration enters its second decade, supporters emphasize that growing global instability makes sustained international cooperation and proactive peacebuilding more critical than ever.

<strong>CaribPR Wire, SEOUL, South Korea, Mon. Mar. 16, 2026:</strong> The dedication of the early believers who started in an apartment basement 42 years ago became the seed of a revival that today draws tens of thousands of faithful from around the world every year. At the heart of that growth lies a steadfast principle of faith rooted in the Word - the very essence of true belief.

Shincheonji, Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman Lee Man-hee; hereinafter "Shincheonji Church of Jesus"), a rapidly growing Christian denomination in South Korea, held a commemorative service on March 15th at Cheongju Church, Shincheonji Church of Jesus to mark its 42nd founding anniversary. The service was prepared as an occasion to look back on 42 years since its founding, to express gratitude for the sacrifices of Jesus, the martyrs, and the faith pioneers who came before, and to reaffirm the principle of "Word-centered faith."

On the day, more than 2,000 members attended in person, while believers from South Korea and abroad also joined in real time via online livestream, adding further significance to the occasion.
<p align="center"></p>

[caption id="attachment_16459" align="aligncenter" width="432" caption="Chairman Lee Man-hee reaffirms the principle of Word-centered faith at the 42nd founding anniversary."]<img class="size-full wp-image-16459" title="Chairman Lee Man-hee reaffirms the principle of Word-centered faith at the 42nd founding anniversary." src="https://caribpr.com/uploads/2026/03/Chairman-Lee-Man-hee-reaffirms-the-principle-of-Word-centered-faith-at-the-42nd-founding-anniversary..jpg" alt="Chairman Lee Man-hee reaffirms the principle of Word-centered faith at the 42nd founding anniversary." width="432" height="243" />[/caption]

In his proclamation of the Word, Chairman Lee Man-hee urged the congregation toward true faith, stating: "Just as John 1:1 declares that the Word itself is God, there can be no faith apart from the Word. Today, as we mark our 42nd founding anniversary, let us gather our hearts once more and strive to have a faith that is recognized even before God and the angels."

Chairman Lee also emphasized the importance of the Book of Revelation, saying: "Revelation 22 states that anyone who adds to or takes away from this book will not enter heaven and will receive a curse. If one truly believes in the Word of God, one must examine whether they have added to or taken away from Revelation."

<strong> Early Believers Reflect: "The Secret to Shincheonji's Growth Is the Overwhelming Power of the Word"</strong>

Shincheonji Church of Jesus, now a globally recognized denomination, did not begin in a building - it began on mountains and in open fields. In an era when there was no proper place of worship, Chairman Lee Man-hee gathered with those who had followed the Word and held mountain worship services, before proclaiming the founding of Shincheonji on 14 March 1984.

The first-generation believers who laid the groundwork for Shincheonji's growth carried a particularly deep sense of reflection as they welcomed the 42nd anniversary service. Bak Bok-yeong (70, female), a member who had been with Shincheonji Church of Jesus even before its founding, recalled: "It was such an immense joy to finally have my thirst for the Word quenched - I believed with gratitude and gladness. Thanks to the fullness that the revealed Word brought, the difficult conditions were no obstacle at all." She added: "Now, seeing tens of thousands of believers flock here every year, I realize it is ultimately the power of the Word that has moved people's hearts. All of this is the power of the Word, and the grace of God."

Jo Myeong-suk (73, female), who joined in 1992, likewise shared: "While praying for the assurance of salvation and a desire to understand the true meaning of the Bible, I came across Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The depth I encountered was on an entirely different level, and that conviction led me to join." She emphasized the secret behind Shincheonji's growth across generations, adding: "Then as now, it seems that believers who hunger for the Word find their way here."

<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-16460" title="the growth Shincheonji Church of Jesus" src="https://caribpr.com/uploads/2026/03/the-growth-Shincheonji-Church-of-Jesus.jpg" alt="the growth Shincheonji Church of Jesus" width="432" height="241" />

Indeed, since its founding on 14 March 1984, Shincheonji Church of Jesus has dedicated itself to proclaiming the fulfilled realities of the Book of Revelation throughout the world. This spread of the Word is clearly reflected in the work of Zion Christian Mission Center, Shincheonji's Bible education center. Beginning with the Graduation for Class 1 of Zion Christian Mission Center in 1991, the Center produced over 100,000 graduates in a single year in 2019 - a milestone unprecedented in religious history. Last year, 59,192 graduates of Zion Christian Mission Center's Class 116 gathered at Cheongju Church, Shincheonji Church of Jesus. A significant number among them were international graduates, demonstrating that the gospel of Revelation is spreading across the globe.

</strong>

<strong> </strong><strong> </strong>

Now in its middle years of faith, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is expanding its engagement with the wider world. The church has been actively building relationships through Word exchange MOUs and sign change MOAs with pastoral communities at home and abroad. As of last year, cumulative Word exchange MOUs have reached 969 churches in South Korea and 14,347 churches across 89 countries overseas. Through sign change MOAs, 129 churches in South Korea and 1,729 churches across 48 countries have changed their church signs to Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus has also fulfilled its social responsibilities by taking the lead in practical relief efforts during national crises. During the COVID-19 pandemic, 3,741 members donated plasma to support the development of treatments. In 2022, amid a nationwide blood shortage, more than 70,000 members completed blood donations within just two weeks, playing a pivotal role in resolving the crisis. The church has also dispatched large-scale volunteer teams to major disaster sites - including the Taean oil spill, the 2017 Pohang earthquake, and the Andong-Uiseong wildfires - to assist in recovery efforts. In addition, the church continues to carry out everyday care activities for marginalized members of local communities, including medical services for foreign workers and meal-sharing programs for elderly people living alone, practicing the value of "love" as taught by Jesus.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus stated: "The past 42 years have been a remarkable journey brought about by the dedication of our members alongside the unchanging essence of the Word of God. Going forward, we will do our utmost to spread the value of unwavering truth, rooted in the faith with which we began."

<div><span class="legendSpanClass">LONDON</span>, <span class="legendSpanClass">March 14, 2026</span> /PRNewswire/ -- Lord Ashcroft's collection of Victoria Crosses and George Crosses is to have a new home at the National Army Museum in London.</div>

The collection is the largest of its kind in the world. It has been built up by Lord Ashcroft over the past 40 years and includes nearly 250 VCs and a smaller number of GCs. It was previously housed at the Imperial War Museum, London, which closed the Lord Ashcroft Gallery in September last year after 15 years.
<div id="dvprnejpg1031left" style="width: 100%; text-align: left;" dir="ltr"><img id="prnejpg1031left" title="The Lord Ashcroft Medal Collection" src="https://mma.prnewswire.com/media/2932767/The_Lord_Ashcroft_Medal_Collection.jpg" alt="The Lord Ashcroft Medal Collection" align="middle" /></div>
Lord Ashcroft spoke today of his delight at the news: "I am thrilled to have found such a superb location for this unique collection of gallantry medals. I am so pleased that these VCs and GCs, spanning many major wars and conflicts of the past two centuries, will now be enjoyed by the public once again.

"The National Army Museum shares my passion for the decorations themselves and also to tell the incredible stories of bravery that go with them. I look forward to a long and happy partnership with the Museum for many years to come."

Justin Maciejewski, the Director of the National Army Museum, said: "We are honoured to be entrusted with these VCs and GCs from the Lord Ashcroft Medal Collection. We are grateful to Lord Ashcroft for his continued generosity and commitment in championing these stories of extraordinary courage.

"The National Army Museum shares the history and heritage of our soldiers across the globe and down the centuries. Within that wider narrative, these medals, and the individual acts of extraordinary bravery and valour they represent, form a powerful part of the Army's story."

Chris Finney, a Trustee of the National Army Museum and the Chair of the VC and GC Association, said: "This rare and expansive collection spans centuries of military service, sacrifice, and extraordinary bravery across the Armed Forces.

"We are privileged to be given the opportunity to share these medals—and the inspiring personal stories they represent—with visitors, and online for the wider public, where they can continue to inspire people of all ages for generations to come."

Lord Ashcroft began his collection of VCs in 1986 with the purchase of a single medal group at auction. The VC, instituted by Queen Victoria in 1856, is Britain and the Commonwealth's most prestigious decoration for valour in the presence of the enemy. The GC, created by George VI in 1940, is Britain and the Commonwealth's most prestigious decoration for gallantry not in the presence of the enemy and it has been awarded to several civilians for acts of valour.

Lord Ashcroft's VCs and GCs are part of the wider Lord Ashcroft Medal Collection, which includes Special Forces decorations and medals for valour in the skies and at sea. Lord Ashcroft's long passion for gallantry awards was initially inspired by his late father, Eric, who as a young officer took part in the D-Day Landings on June 6 1944.

Lord Ashcroft's collection of VCs includes one of just three VCs and Bars—the equivalent of two VCs—that have been awarded over the past 170 years. This is the medal group awarded to Captain Noel Chavasse VC &amp; Bar, MC, a medical officer who served and was killed during the Great War.

Following the closure of the previous gallery, Lord Ashcroft has made his collection accessible digitally through his website. This new partnership with the National Army Museum will allow the public to visit the collection and be inspired by the remarkable stories they represent.

The VC and GC collection will go on display at the National Army Museum within the next two years. In the meantime, from July onwards some of Lord Ashcroft's medals will go on display at the museum, including pop-up exhibitions.

As the home of the Army's history and heritage, the National Army Museum will be displaying items from the Lord Ashcroft Medal Collection alongside its existing collections of objects, archives and artworks, telling the stories of soldiers and their service—including the origins of the Victoria Cross in the Crimean War.

Lord Ashcroft's VCs and GCs will be shared on a long-term loan with the National Army Museum. Alongside their display, the Museum is planning a programme of exhibitions, educational resources, talks, tours and digital content exploring the human stories of courage behind the decorations.

Further details of the new partnership between Lord Ashcroft and the National Army Museum relating to the display of his VC and GC collection will be released over the coming months.

<strong>CARIBPR WIRE, BELIZE CITY, Belize, March 11, 2026: </strong>Belize has taken a significant step toward ensuring that every person in the country has access to quality, affordable eye care, with the official launch of the World Health Organization (WHO) SPECS 2030 initiative.
<p align="left">The national launch and planning workshop brought together representatives from the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology, the Belize Council for the Visually Impaired (BCVI), the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). Participants convened to assess the current state of eye health services in Belize, identify gaps, and chart a clear path forward.</p>

<em>"With the launch of the WHO SPECS 2030 initiative, Belize advances in its commitment to ensuring that every citizen can access quality eye care. Preventable vision impairment should not limit a child's learning, a person's ability to work, or an individual's quality of life. Through its adoption, we are reinforcing our national vision for a stronger, more equitable health system that leaves no one behind,"</em> said Hon. Kevin Bernard, Minister for Health and Wellness. WHO’s SPECS 2030 initiative provides countries with a structured approach to strengthening refractive error services across five areas:
<ul type="disc">
	<li><strong>Services</strong> — improving access to refractive services</li>
<li><strong>Personnel</strong> — building the capacity of personnel to provide refractive services</li>
<li><strong>Education</strong> — promoting public awareness about eye health</li>
<li><strong>Cost</strong> — reducing the cost of eyeglasses and services</li>
	<li><strong>Surveillance</strong> — strengthening data collection and research</li>
</ul>
For Belize, the initiative translates into three clear priorities at the country level. First, convening all relevant eye health stakeholders — across the public and private sectors — to agree on national priorities and key areas of action. Second, developing a SPECS 2030 integration plan with measurable targets that can be embedded within Belize's broader health and eye care strategies. Third, establishing a monitoring and evaluation framework to track progress, review data regularly, and improve services over time. <em>"Belize is demonstrating how global frameworks like WHO SPECS 2030 can be translated into practical, country-led action. The Foundation's role in this effort is to support technical implementation — from strengthening refractive services to building local capacity and improving service delivery models. We are proud to stand alongside Belize as it advances a more integrated and accessible eye care system,"</em> said Daniele Cangemi, Head of the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, Latin America. Progress will be measured against a defined set of indicators, reported every three to five years through the WHO Global Status Report. These include the reach of school eye health programmes for early detection, the availability of refractive services within the public health system, the size and scope of the eye care workforce, and the degree to which costs are covered through health insurance or other financial protection mechanisms. At the impact level, Belize will track effective cataract surgical coverage and effective refractive error coverage through population-based surveys and health system data. <em>"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology welcomes the WHO SPECS 2030 initiative from the BCVI and MOHW in collaboration with PAHO and the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation. We are committed to strengthening our partnership and collaboration with BCVI and the MOHW as we work together to prevent avoidable blindness and expand support services through existing Primary Care and Rehabilitation Programs for children who are blind. The Ministry congratulates and applauds BCVI for its ongoing dedication and commitment to Belize's visually impaired community,"</em> commented Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology. BCVI, working alongside MOHW, the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation and the initiative's national and international partners, will lead coordination and follow-up to ensure that commitments made at the workshop translate into meaningful progress on the ground. The launch of SPECS 2030 reflects Belize's commitment to universal health coverage and to a future where no Belizean loses the ability to learn, work, or thrive because of a vision condition that could have been corrected. <strong>About the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation</strong> The OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation is a registered charitable organization dedicated to eliminating uncorrected poor vision within a generation. As part of EssilorLuxottica’s commitment to universal vision care, the Foundation works to expand access for millions in underserved communities worldwide. It is also the Global Collaborating Partner of the World Health Organization’s SPECS 2030 initiative, which focuses on refractive error, myopia prevention, and improving access to vision care in low-resource settings.

<ul type="disc">
	<li style="margin-bottom:8pt;"><strong>Vigilancia</strong>: fortalecer la recolección de datos e investigación</li>
</ul>
<strong>CARIBPR WIRE, SAINT PHILIP, Barbados, March 06, 2026:</strong> As loyalty programmes increasingly influence how travellers choose where to stay, Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle Resort &amp; Spa is encouraging Caribbean travellers to take advantage of a benefit many may not realize is available to them; earning free hotel stays around the world through Wyndham Rewards, one of the largest hotel loyalty programmes globally.

The programme allows guests to earn points for qualifying stays and redeem them at more than 9,000 Wyndham hotels across over 95 countries, meaning a getaway in Barbados can also help travellers build rewards for future trips to destinations across North America, Europe, the Caribbean and beyond.

For many travellers in the region, however, the ability to earn global rewards from regional travel remains relatively underutilized. The resort is therefore encouraging Barbadians and visitors from across the Caribbean to sign up for Wyndham Rewards and begin building points through their stays.

To help travellers get started, the resort is offering double Wyndham Rewards points on eligible CARICOM and local bookings made through the end of April, allowing guests to accelerate their points while enjoying a luxury all-inclusive experience in Barbados.

General Manager Leroy Browne says the initiative is designed to raise awareness among Caribbean travellers who may not yet realize they can earn global travel rewards through regional stays.

“Many travellers in the Caribbean don’t realize that when they stay with us, they can earn points that can be redeemed at thousands of hotels around the world,” Browne said. “Wyndham Rewards allows our regional guests to enjoy a luxury all-inclusive experience here in Barbados while building points they can use for future travel. The double-points offer simply helps them reach those rewards faster.”

Situated on approximately 29 acres of oceanfront property along Barbados’ southeastern coast, Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle Resort &amp; Spa blends the heritage of the historic Sam Lord’s site with a modern all-inclusive resort experience.

The 422-room resort features sweeping Atlantic views, six swimming pools, multiple dining venues, curated entertainment experiences and the island’s only ESPA-branded spa, offering both leisure and regional travellers a luxury escape within easy reach of major Caribbean gateways.

Year-round local and regional offers also make the property accessible to Barbadians and Caribbean nationals seeking a premium staycation experience while participating in Wyndham’s global loyalty ecosystem.

For travellers across the Caribbean, the message is simple, a Barbados getaway today can help unlock free hotel stays around the world tomorrow.

<span class="legendSpanClass">MIAMI</span>, <span class="legendSpanClass">March 5, 2026</span> /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- Baptist Health International, part of Baptist Health South Florida, and Bahamas Wellness Health System have formalized a new collaboration through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery, professional education and clinical collaboration in The Bahamas.
<div id="dvprnejpgd4fbleft" style="width: 100%; text-align: left;" dir="ltr"><img id="prnejpgd4fbleft" title="BHI &amp; Bahamas Wellness" src="https://mma.prnewswire.com/media/2923764/BHI_BAHAMAS_WELLNESS.jpg" alt="BHI &amp; Bahamas Wellness" align="middle" /></div>
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation focused on expanding access to specialized medical expertise, supporting clinical training and observership opportunities, facilitating second medical opinions and promoting multidisciplinary peer-to-peer consultation between physicians.

"This MOU represents an important step forward in our mission to deliver safe, high-quality care that meets international standards," said Arlington Lightbourne, M.D., president and chief executive officer of Bahamas Wellness Health System and Eleuthera Wellness Hospital. "By collaborating with Baptist Health International, we are creating new opportunities for mentorship, professional development and access to advanced expertise that will directly benefit our patients and care teams."

Under the agreement, patients treated within the Bahamas Wellness network may access second medical opinions from Baptist Health physicians and receive support with referrals when advanced care is required. The collaboration also explores opportunities for teleconsultation services, and knowledge exchange designed to enhance patient outcomes while reducing the need for travel.

Healthcare professionals within Bahamas Wellness Health System will benefit from educational initiatives that may include participation in symposiums and conferences, clinical observerships and professional training programs supported by Baptist Health International. The agreement also supports the development of best practices, policies and staff education, and guidance for international accreditation readiness.

"Our alliance with Bahamas Wellness Health System reflects Baptist Health International's commitment to advancing meaningful healthcare connections throughout the Caribbean," said Rogelio E. Ribas, M.D., Corporate Vice President of Baptist Health International. "Through education, clinical engagement and shared expertise, we aim to support the growth of high-quality healthcare services that strengthen local systems and expand access to specialized care."

That first export marked the beginning of a new era for LNG in the United States and laid the foundation for what has become a decade of safe, reliable operations at Sawgrass LNG &amp; Power's Miami liquefaction facility and at customer sites across the region.

Since that milestone, Sawgrass LNG &amp; Power has grown into one of the most experienced LNG suppliers serving customers in the Southeast United States and throughout the Caribbean. Over the past decade, the company has supported a wide range of users, from transportation and industrial customers to resorts and island utilities seeking to transition away from diesel and heavy fuel oil. Sawgrass LNG &amp; Power's focus on operational safety and reliability has helped customers reduce energy costs, lower emissions, and strengthen system resilience in regions where energy delivery can be particularly challenging.

"We take pride in our place in the history of U.S. LNG and in the industry's extraordinary growth over the last decade.
