CaribPR Wire, LONDON, England, Fri. Jun. 6, 2013: He’s the enigmatic captain of the dynamic West Indies One-Day International (ODI) cricket team. He continues to dominate the global cricketing arena and is adored by millions the world over. Now, following his much-talked about win as ODI Player of the Year at the prestigious West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and West Indies Players Association (WIPA) Awards, that took place in Kingston, Jamaica, yesterday evening, Dwayne Bravo is finishing off what has been an exhilarating week, by adding yet another glamorous accolade to his ever-growing repertoire.

Bravo, earlier this week, released his debut solo hit single, ‘Go Gyal Go,’ in his homeland of Trinidad and Tobago, and is now set to take the world by storm, by recording his first full album shortly.

The video to the catchy ‘Go Gyal Go’ track, directed by the highly-acclaimed Jason Williams and featuring fellow West Indies cricketing superstar Fidel Edwards, already has fans abuzz and has been touted as one of this summer’s biggest dancehall-soca anthems

Written by leading songwriters Dale Ryan, Emmanuel Rudder, Patrice Millien and Danielle Millien, and produced by powerhouse production units Millbeatz Entertainment and Mad Men Productions, ‘Go Gyal Go,’ typifies Bravo’s energetic and vibrant personality, which has endeared him to masses of adoring cricketing fans around the world.

“Cricket has given me the opportunity to widen my horizons. I have achieved so much in cricket and as a result, I am now also able to expand my creative sphere,” Bravo stated emphatically. “Music is a passion and a way of life for me. I always maintained that, had I not carved out a career as a cricketer, I would have ended up in the entertainment industry. I am now developing my own artistic ideas for further tracks that will feature on my new album, and I am excited that I have come such a long way and developed my own style and confidence in the musical arena, from when I first dabbled in this industry with the guidance of my best friend, the Grammy-Award winning dancehall artiste, Beenie Man. This is an avenue I am seriously considering as a career, following my eventual tenure in world cricket.”

Bravo leads a new generation of young, highly successful, West Indian cricketers, who are revered for their dynamism and entertaining style of cricket and who subsequently, have taken advantage of the many alluring off-field commercial and business opportunities that are also showered their way.

“Cricket is a game but also a lucrative business framework these days,” he added. “The game now brings with it many and varied opportunities, particularly, for in-demand players. I work closely with my Agent in deciding which such ventures, when presented, would benefit myself, my image and my public profile in the longer-term. The priority is that I never jeopardize my position as a senior member of the West Indies Cricket team and the privilege such a position holds. However, it is of course wonderful to have opportunities and offers to act in big-name movies, partner with billion-dollar Chinese firms, be the face of telecommunications giants and have the flexibility to explore my musical ability and aptitude, for example. I feel extremely blessed.”

The T20 superstar is also said to be expanding his business portfolio further, by partnering with his Agent and several high-profile West Indian cricketers in pioneering an exciting, celebrity landmark development, details of which are being kept under wraps.

“There are a lot of exciting plans in the pipeline for Dwayne Bravo. I want to explore as many of my creative and business capabilities as I can around my cricket, which obviously continues to remain my number one goal,” he said, displaying his usual charisma and confidence.

Bravo’s promotional tour for his debut solo single, ‘Go Gyal Go,’ commences this week and will include a highly anticipated appearance at a star-studded promotional kick-off event for the forthcoming Canadian Premier League tournament, which is also set to feature other global cricketing superstars such as Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

The single is expected to be available on iTunes, shortly.

Dwayne Bravo receiving his history-making contracts from his Agent on the eve of his signing to China Harbour.

CaribPR Wire, LONDON, England, Mon. Dec. 16, 2013: Global T20 superstar and West Indies Cricket ODI Captain, Dwayne Bravo, has just made history by becoming the first international cricketer to partner with one of the largest Chinese corporate entities in the world.

Multi-billion dollar Engineering, Construction and Consultancy giant, China Harbour, has appointed the 30-year-old as their sporting brand ambassador, making them the first ever globally-ranked Chinese firm to affiliate with a West Indies cricketing star.

The high-profile signing will see Bravo featured in exclusive ad campaigns and conducting personal appearances on behalf of the leading infrastructure construction company, which becomes his official corporate sponsor ahead of a packed West Indies playing schedule. That includes the upcoming one-day international series against New Zealand followed by the team’s home series against England and subsequent participation in the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, where the West Indies will defend their T20 Championship title, early next year.

Speaking to the media on the eve of his signing, Bravo said: “To become the first international and West Indian cricketer to be sponsored by a globally renowned Chinese firm is an incredible honor and a privilege. The Chinese are by far one of the most powerful nations in the world today, thus their introduction into, and their presence within West Indies cricket, will make a tremendous difference not just for us as cricketers but for the entire Caribbean region. For me to be the first cricketer to be bestowed with such a prestigious partnership is an incredible feeling and I further hope that our affiliation will pave the way for significant ongoing relations and investment between China and the Caribbean, long-term.”

Bravo’s agent, Emma Everett, added that they had actively discussed affiliating with the lucrative Chinese market for some time and were thrilled that China Harbour reciprocated the significance of such a partnership despite cricket still being a virtually unknown sport in China.

“Dwayne has made history today,” said Everett. “He has become the first international cricketer to venture into the powerful Chinese market whilst cricket as a sport remains relatively new in China, and for him to have done so by affiliating with a global powerhouse such as China Harbour, indicates the Company’s faith and confidence in him to represent their brand across the world with the same degree of international standing and success. Dwayne Bravo is the epitome of everything China Harbour places at the core of its morale: dynamic, dedicated and entirely focused on getting the job done.”

China Harbour’s regional General Manager, Mr. Deng Bo, echoed Bravo and his representative’s delight at the brand ambassador signing, stating that this was his company’s first foray onto the international cricketing scene.

Whilst it is a new concept for us to affiliate with a sporting brand ambassador, we are thrilled by this exciting partnership and look forward to Dwayne Bravo leading our brand and ethos with the same diligence and commitment he displays when representing West Indies Cricket,” said Mr. Bo. “China Harbour already has a substantial presence in the Caribbean, therefore, we are proud to associate our brand with a Caribbean and international superstar, to elongate our ongoing relationship with the Caribbean region and the rest of the world. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with our new ambassador Dwayne Bravo.”

West Indian Powerhouse Dwayne Bravo To Film Movie Debut On His Birthday

West Indian Powerhouse Dwayne Bravo goes through some dance moves on the set of ‘Ula.'

West Indian Powerhouse Dwayne Bravo goes through some dance moves at a press conference to announce his signing to the movie, ‘Ula.'

CaribPR Wire, LONDON, England, Sun. Oct. 6, 2013: West Indies Cricket ODI Captain and one of the biggest sporting stars to emerge from the Caribbean in recent times, Dwayne Bravo, is set to spend his 30th birthday on Monday, October 7th, filming his movie debut in an Indian thriller.

Bravo, a flamboyant and renowned entertainer, with two singles already released in collaboration with Grammy-award winning superstar Beenie Man, will feature in a specially created song and dance sequence for the much anticipated Tamil movie, ‘Ula,’ directed by the highly-respected Rajan Madhav and produced by Lv Srikanth Lakshman for Dreambridge Productions. This is Bravo’s first film role and he feels it is fitting that his debut will be in an Indian movie.

On the eve of the press conference announcing his signing for the movie, he told reporters: “India is like my second home now, so I was thrilled when my agent presented the opportunity to me and more so, when she mentioned it was going to be filmed in Chennai, a city to which I obviously have a deep affiliation as a member of the IPL team, Chennai Superkings. I love the people of Chennai and the people of India, and I am relishing the opportunity to work with a talented and highly respected cast and crew in my first film.”

Although the famed Chennai Superkings team lost in the semi-final round of the Cricket Champions League tournament on Friday, October 4th, Bravo was excited at the prospect of still giving something back to the adoring Chennai public – this time in the form of exhibiting his trademark song and dance moves in the movie ‘Ula,’ which features an impressive Indian cinematic cast including Ajmal, Viddharth, Ashok, Radhika Apte, Gayathrie and several other acclaimed stars. “It was totally unplanned that filming happened to fall on his 30th birthday, but it is a very special way for him to celebrate reaching this milestone and is a testament to all that he has achieved, and continues to achieve” Bravo’s representative, Emma Everett said.

Contrary to his image, however, it is not all about glitz and glamour for the gifted all-rounder, who is often referred to as the talisman in the much loved West Indies international cricket team for his incredible energy and confidence. Bravo will, as he does every year, spend his birthday visiting shelters for the homeless and children’s orphanages, to provide to the needy.

“It is something I do on my birthday each year. I have been very fortunate in my life, and I try to give back as much as I can to others who are less fortunate. During my birthday this year, I will take a break from filming to go and provide for a homeless shelter in Chennai,” the humble star stated. Whilst Bravo emphasizes an unquestionable priority to his international cricketing career; he does enjoy significant and worthy opportunities outside of cricket, being one of the most in-demand sporting superstars in the world. “On the rare occasions where my tour or training schedule may permit, I do like to challenge myself with opportunities that I feel may have a longer-term impact. There are a number of projects currently in the pipeline which I am very excited about,” Bravo said.
