The 2025 Park Chung-hee Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition was hosted by the Park Chung-hee Cup Organizing Committee and co-hosted by the Gyeongbuk Taekwondo Association and Sangju City Taekwondo Association. Approximately 4,200 athletes from 18 countries around the world, including Korea, the United States, and France, participated in a heated competition at the Sangju Indoor Gymnasium from the 18th to the 21st. The competition consisted of various events such as comprehensive competition, breaking, forms, kicking, and actual sparring, and evaluated the skills of the participants in a three-dimensional manner.

On the 19th, Shincheonji Church of Jesus Church Taekwondo team member Bae Do-won is demonstrating a Poomsae in the official Poomsae individual event at the 2025 Park Chung-hee Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition held at the Sangju Indoor Gymnasium in Gyeongbuk.

The Shincheonji Taekwondo team had a total of 25 players compete in the official individual competition held on the 19th, and despite the short preparation period, they showed off their dazzling skills through focused training and persistent effort. As a result, the team achieved the feat of winning 4 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals, with each member winning an award.

Notably, this competition received attention as an opportunity to raise the cultural and diplomatic status of the Republic of Korea. The performance at the international competition held in Korea, the home of Taekwondo, was assessed as leaving a strong impression on domestic and international participants.

On the 19th, Shincheonji Church of Jesus Church Taekwondo team member Jeong Jun-yong, who participated in the 2025 Park Chung-hee Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition held at the Sangju Indoor Gymnasium in Gyeongbuk, is demonstrating his Poomsae in the individual official Poomsae event. This competition is an international Taekwondo competition held in Sangju, Gyeongbuk from the 18th to the 21st.

Lee Jun-wi, who won the gold medal, said, “Although I didn’t have enough training time, I put in effort to focus as much as possible within the given time,” and added, “I am grateful that the efforts led to good results.”

National team coach Kim Deok-hoon said, “As this is an international competition, many excellent athletes both domestic and abroad participated and competed at a high level,” and added, “I am proud that the players demonstrated their skills without wavering. Based on this competition, we will systematically prepare a training system and strategy so that we can have more players and improved skills next year.”

This competition is an international Taekwondo competition held in Sangju, Gyeongbuk from the 18th to the 21st.

The Shincheonji Taekwondo team achieved outstanding results not only at the Park Chung-hee Cup but also at the 2025 Kim Un-yong Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition held in Busan earlier this month, where all participants won awards. There, 12 participants participated, including 2 first place, 4 second place, and 5 third place, continuing their record of consecutive awards in international competitions.

In addition, the team has been achieving excellent results in domestic and international competitions every year, such as having 5 out of 18 players place in the 2024 Mungyeong World Taekwondo Hanmadang held last year.

CARIBPR WIRE, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. May 2, 2023: A Caribbean heritage athlete has solidified her place for the finals of the 48th Annual Colgate Women’s Games, set for Sunday, May 7th at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York.

Guyana-rooted Kushanna Medas-King is leading CWG’s Elementary B 800-meter run. Already an accomplished distance runner at her young age, Kushanna is a Colgate Games veteran, who also competes in events across the U.S, and has been nationally ranked for her best performances, thanks to the coaching of her father, Guyana- born Andy Medas-King.

The finals will be a melting pot of competitors. Nearly 300 of the nation’s top young female track and field athletes, and future stars, from the U.S. East Coast will compete. Among them is also Central American heritage high school scholar and athlete Prizila Negrete of The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, N.Y. She was a top point scorer in the CWG’s HS Shot Put after the Semi-Finals.  Her parents were born in Honduras and because she holds dual citizenship in both the U.S. and Honduras, Prizila will be competing with the Honduran National team this year.

“I trained with them last summer when I went to Honduras. And the first meet that I’m scheduled to compete for Honduras is the Central American Games in Guatemala, Under 18 age group, in June,” she said. Upon graduation from high school, she will be attending Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, with help from an athletic scholarship.

Following three weeks of exciting preliminary and semi-finals competition at Queens College, the top eight runners, high jumpers and shot putters in each category will compete for trophies and more than 100 educational scholarships from the sponsoring Colgate-Palmolive Company.  Scholarship values have doubled this year to $2,000, $1,000, and $500, respectively.

CaribPR Wire, MIAMI, FL, March 23, 2018: More exciting sports action is in store for Flow customers as Flow Sports is now the official Caribbean broadcaster of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (GC2018). The recently signed agreement with the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) will give Caribbean viewers unprecedented coverage of the region’s athletes participating in this year’s Commonwealth Games. Over 1.5 million global viewers are expected to tune in to view the games.

Flow customers can now catch live and exclusive coverage of the events on Flow Sports 1, Flow Sports 2 and up to three additional “Flow Sports Extra” channels.

Flow’s mobile customers will also have live access via WiFi or Mobile Data to the Games via the Flow Sports 1 App. This will allow mobile subscribers across the region, even those without cable subscription, to watch the Commonwealth Games live.

HRH Prince Charles will open the Commonwealth Games on April 4 in Queensland, Australia, and Flow will deliver over 250 hours of live coverage for two full weeks of this world class event which culminates on April 14. Flow’s coverage of the Commonwealth Games comes closely on the heels of the Caribbean’s premier junior athletics meet, the Flow CARIFTA Games held March 30 – April 2 in Nassau, Bahamas.

Included in this mix are 14 Caribbean countries who will be represented at the games and compete in 18 sporting events and 7 para sports that include Track and Field, Boxing, Aquatics, Netball, Beach Volleyball, Rugby Sevens, Squash. The games, which take place every four years, are being held in Australia’s Gold Coast; live coverage on the Flow Sports Networks will start each evening at 7pm Eastern Caribbean Time and extend well into the late-night hours. During the course of the Flow Skills competition close to 700 boys and girls between the ages of 12 to 16 years old from across 14 Flow Caribbean markets competed, culminating in reaching the finals in Trinidad for a shot at the ultimate prize: a trip to the Theatre of Dreams – Old Trafford – in Manchester, England. Both winners will be chaperoned by his/her coach and a parent.

Expectations are high for the finalists but all eyes will undoubtedly be on three emerging female talents: 13-year old Carlia Johnson of Anguilla; 13-year old Molly Kehoe of Cayman Islands and 14-year old Moenesa Mejias of Trinidad, all of them touted as extremely talented. All participants will be exposed to the famous Manchester United Soccer School training techniques and some of their celebrated coaches. 28 jóvenes futbolistas caribeños anotan para avanzar a la final de Flow Skills en Trinidad este fin de semana

CaribPR Wire, MIAMI, FL, March 23, 2018: “Consideren este como el primer paso en su viaje hacia la grandeza”, dijo Garry Sinclair, presidente de Flow Caribbean, al felicitar a los veintiocho jóvenes futbolistas que avanzaron este fin de semana (23-25 de marzo) a la Gran Final del Flow Skills Ultimate Football Experience en Puerto España, Trinidad . Según Sinclair, “estos jóvenes tienen el privilegio envidiable y único de estar expuestos al más alto nivel de habilidades y técnicas de entrenamiento de fútbol cortesía del club de fútbol más grande y prestigioso del mundo, el Manchester United. Flow Sports 2 will be exclusively available to TV customers of Flow and BTC.  The channel will be packed with “must see” premium international and regional live sports starting with the Commonwealth Games on the 4^th of April and the IPL which starts on the 7^th of April.  Viewers of the channel can also watch other flagship sports exclusively like Major League Soccer, IAAF events, New Zealand Cricket and FA Cup Football. The introduction of Flow Sports 2 is a direct response to customer demand for compelling live sports in the Caribbean and to accommodate the breadth of sport now available on the Flow Sports Network – establishing its position as the preeminent broadcaster of premium live sports in the region.

The current Flow Sports channel is also getting a makeover and will be re-branded to Flow Sports 1. The channel will continue to give viewers access to riveting and outstanding sporting action including the Flow CARIFTA Games, Concacaf Football Premier League, Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, and High School Football, Rugby, Tennis, Racing and Cycling.  At the same time, Flow Sports Premier will be rebranded Flow Sports Premier League, establishing itself as the channel for die-hard football fans with dedicated 24/7 coverage of the Premier League – again only available to Flow TV customers.   Flow Sports continues to have the exclusive rights to the Premier League.
