Title: NYC Prepares for the Caribbean Battle of the Bands

Aug. 26, 2008 :  Upscale Crowd Entertainment brings a classy spin to the down and ‘dutty’ Caribbean carnival celebrations in New York City this coming Labor Day weekend with Battle of the Bands . The event is set for the city’s prestigious Roseland Ballroom. Billed as ` New York ’s Biggest Soca Show, the event brings together the Caribbean ’s biggest Soca bands in a friendly `sound clash` on Sunday, August 31 st .  Roseland, which has seen the likes of Rock icons Madonna, and Paul McCartney, and also served as the venue for Senator Hillary Clinton’s birthday party, will serve as the backdrop for the ultimate showdown between Trinidad’s Bunji Garlin & the Asylum Band , Fayann Lyons , and Shurwayne Winchester ; Edwin Yearwood & Krossfyah , and Ricky T out of St. Lucia and Antigua’s Red Hot Flames .  `Of all of the Caribbean carnivals on the East Coast, the West Indian-American Day Carnival in Brooklyn is the most popular.
